77mm Circular Polarizer
77mm Circular Polarizer
Rate Per Day (3 Day Rentals):$2.00

Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarized and Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. Polarizers do not affect the overall color balance of a shot.  (Brand may vary) more info

The Sigma 95mm DG Single-Layer Coated Circular Polarizer Filter
Sigma 95mm DG Filter - Circular Polarizer
Rate Per Day (3 Day Rentals):$4.00

The Sigma 95mm DG Single-Layer Coated Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions.

A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.
